How I Approach Weight Loss, Health & Body Changes
This interview took place after a presentation I gave to female college hockey players on nutrition, body image, and health beyond the scale.
We talked about how our bodies work for us — not against us — and why proper fueling matters for strength, confidence, and overall health. A key part of the conversation was understanding that nutrition and health changes take time, and that small, sustainable adjustments are far more effective than extremes.
That same perspective guides my work with adults navigating weight loss, GLP-1 medications, injury, or recovery: focusing on nourishment, not punishment, and building progress slowly in a way that supports real life.
You might be here because:
✓ You want to lose weight without under-eating or losing muscle
✓ You’re using (or considering) GLP-1s and want evidence-based guidance
✓ You’re injured, in physical therapy, or dealing with joint pain and weight changes
✓ You want support that feels realistic, calm, and sustainable
If any of this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.
Working with Alisa has truly been life changing. I’ve always struggled with maintaining weight loss, losing a ton only to gain it all back... Alisa helped me start with small, manageable changes, like adding a protein shake, guiding me in building one habit at a time until I had a routine that actually stuck. I still travel and sometimes struggle, but because of the easy habits we’ve created, I bounce back so much faster now. I feel better than I have in years—and I actually had to buy new pants because the old ones no longer fit! I can’t recommend Alisa enough. Her approach is supportive, sustainable, and honestly life-changing.

I was struggling to lose weight. Alisa is very kind, understanding, and nonjudgmental. She helped me adjust my diet and make healthier changes, providing tips for things like how to incorporate more protein... She has been supportive of me every step of the way, and thanks to her I am down 10 pounds and counting!... I highly recommend Alisa because she will be there for you every step of the way.
